  1. The journey of the Rangiwha

  2. The journey begins …. It all started when the idea of a mythical creature from Rangiwahia was discussed. The children and Bridgette worked on the idea, deciding what ‘form’ it would take and its colours and features. Next it was the drawing stage and then finally the day came when the Rangiwha was to be ‘created’…….

  3. The head … …all went rather smoothly!

  4. The body …. … provided some ‘material’ challenges to be able to survive outdoors in a Manawatu winter…

  5. … but with perseverance and hard work, it all turned out perfectly!

  6. The wings … Provided the finishing touch.

  7. It was a fun-filled, action packed day … A triumph of teamwork !

  8. To Feilding – where ‘Rangiwha’ led the procession….

  9. To its final resting place!

  10. The children and I wish to thank Bridgette and JimfromJunk and Disorderlyfor their expert guidance and support during this project.Without their knowledge, creativity and ability to get the best out of the children, in a fun learning environment, the RANGIWHA would have been permanently confined to the ‘cheese caves’ …… but that’s another story!
