  2. 1/30/2019 https://www.newtop10list.com Known as “The Ghazal King of India”, Jagjit Singh was a prominent Indian Ghazal singer, composer, music director, activist and entrepreneur. https://www.newtop10list.com He was awarded Padma Bhushan in 2003 for his contribution to India music and Ghazal culture. Ghazal was almost a dying breed of music, but Jagjit Singh did enough to make sure that current generation of music lovers continue to be in awe of him and relate to Ghazal by simplifying the complex form of ghazals into a simpler form of ghazals by amalgamating ghazal and geet. His music became popular in mass media through films such as Prem Geet (1981), Arth and Saath Saath (1982), and TV serials Mirza Ghalib (1988) and Kahkashan(1991). Besides ghazals, Jagjit Singh has also sung bhajans and Gurbani (Hindu and Sikh devotional hymns respectively). Albums such as Maa, Hare Krishna, Hey Ram…Hey Ram, Ichhabal and also Man Jeetai Jagjeet in Punjabi, put him in the league of Bhajan singers such as Mukesh, Hari Om Sharan, Yesudas, Anup Jalota and Purushottam Das Jalota. But then, after prolong illness, Jagjit Singh left the world and departed on 10 October, 2011. As a tribute to him, we capture his top 10 ghazals and link to listen these songs and download them.
