  4. Why uses apps? • When was the last time you saw a student outside of school with a map? • When was the last time you saw a student with a mobile device? • Look around the room, there are mobile devices out now.

  5. What are Apps? • Online apps • basically web pages • interaction designed specifically for small screens • mobile devices

  6. Adding Items to Your iGoogle Page • Select a QR generator • Select a Tiny URL generator • Select Google maps • Optional add more if you want.

  7. Create a Google Account

  8. Create a SITE on Google • From the iGoogle page select MORE • Click on SITES • Name your new site

  9. Insert an image • On your iGoogle page select the map gadget • Open it up to full screen • Enter Collin county college Frisco TX • Copy the screen (function print screen or just print screen • Open PPT & Paste • Edit image and save as a PNG file

  10. Create and Insert Form • Create a simple form with a questions about the image. • Edit confirmation to provide correct answer • Return to Practice 2012 page and insert form next to image.

  11. QR Code and Test • Use URL from site create QR code for mobile devices. • Test with your smartphone
