  1. God’s Plan for Your Life: Whose Will (?)

  2. God’s will works through all things: However, Not all things are God’s will.

  3. Three Things that are not necessarily God’s Will: • My own will, choices, actions • Other’s will, choices, actions • Acts of Nature

  4. My own will, choices, actions… • “Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight..” King David, Psalm 51. 4 • “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.” Paul, Romans 7.15

  5. Other’s will, choices, actions… • Rescue me, O LORD, from evil men; protect me from men of violence, who devise evil plans in their hearts        and stir up war every day. • David, Psalm 140.1 • The fool says in his heart, "There is no God.“ They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. • David, Psalm 14.1

  6. Acts of Nature •  “We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.”Paul, Romans 8.22 • “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.” John, Revelation 21.1

  7. God’s will works through all things: Not all things are God’s will, however. Why does God allow these things to happen?

  8. Another’s Will…

  9. 2 Timothy 2:25-26 Those who oppose… he must gently instruct… that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

  10. John 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murder from the beginning, not holding to the truth.

  11. Case Study: Job Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” Job 1:8

  12. Case Study: Job “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? Job 1:9-10

  13. Case Study: Job But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.” The LORD said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Job 1:11-12

  14. Revelation 12:17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to makewar against the rest of her offspring—those who obey God’s commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

  15. God’s Will…

  16. The Reality Is… The World is Not Right: Attacks are Coming

  17. Revelation 21.1-8: 1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

  18. Revelation 21.1-8: And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

  19. Revelation 21.1-8: 5 He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." 6 He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.

  20. Revelation 21.1-8: 7 He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

  21. The Good News Is… We may not know exactly what God is doing, but we do know how the story ends!
