You shall put the mercy seat upon the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy.” • Heb 9:3,7,12,23-24

  12. The Veil • Exo 26.31-32 • “You shall make a veil woven of blue, purple, and scarlet [thread], and fine woven linen. It shall be woven with an artistic design of cherubim. You shall hang it upon the four pillars of acacia [wood] overlaid with gold. Their hooks [shall] [be] gold, upon four sockets of silver.” • Rev 19:11-13,16 • 11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had[a] a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. • 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:       KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

  13. The Veil

  14. The Veil • Blue – Heaven (Heaven opened) • Purple – Royalty (crowns, King of Kings) • Scarlet (red) - Blood, Salvation (Christ – Heb 10:20) • Linen (white) – Purity (white horse) • Christ our pure King brought us into Heaven through His Blood

  15. The Veil Why was the veil torn from top to bottom? Matt 27:50-51: 50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. 51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom…

  16. The Veil … • Because God is the one who rent it: • *Col 1:20 • and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. • Rom 5.8, 2 Cor 5:18-20, Eph 1:7 • I Pet 1.18-19, Rev 19.11-13,16

  17. The Great Day of Atonement • Lev 16:2-24: • Rite of preparation • Scapegoat – “for Azazel” • Death/Resurrection • Forgiveness/forgetfulness of sins • Sins of Satan (Azazel), not atoned yet • Atonement by Blood only • The High Priest (Christ) entered the Holy of Holies (Heaven) only once and not without blood (offered Himself) on the great day of Atonement. • I Cor 2:16 • Heb 9:7,24-25, 10:19
