The CA exam pattern is an important aspect of the CA program, and it is crucial to understand the exam pattern in order to succeed in the program. What is the CA Exam Pattern 2023? The CA exam pattern is the method used by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to assess the competency of students in the CA program. The CA exam pattern includes a combination of theoretical and practical assessments. including written exams, practical training, and on-the-job training. The students must pass all exams to progress to the next level of the CA program. What are the levels of the CA program? The CA course in India has three levels: CA Foundation, CA Intermediate, and CA Final. The CA Foundation course is the entry-level course and covers four papers. The CA Intermediate course is the second level, and the CA Final is the last and most advanced level of the CA course. How is the CA exam pattern 2023 structured? CA Foundation Exam Pattern: The CA Foundation exam consists of four papers, each carrying 100 marks. The first two papers are subjective in nature, while the remaining two are objective. Negative marking is applicable to the objective papers. This means that for every wrong answer, 1/4 of a mark will be cut. Students who have registered for the Foundation course must apply for the CA Foundation exam. According to the sources, each paper of the CA Foundation exam consists of 100 questions.   2. As per the CA Intermediate exam pattern for May 2023, there are 8 papers in CA Intermediate, which are further divided into two groups. Each paper consists of 100 marks, and the total marks for the CA Intermediate exams are 800. Group I There are four papers in Group I of the CA Intermediate syllabus for May 2023. Candidates must score an aggregate of 40% in the individual papers and 50% for the group score. The passing grade for each individual paper is 40, and the group grade is 200. CA Final Exam Pattern: The CA Final Exam consists of two groups and eight papers, with each paper consisting of 100 marks. Students must score at least 40 marks in each paper and a total of 400 marks to pass the exams. There will be no negative marking. The questions in the paper include both descriptive and objective questions. The following are the subjects of the CA Final Exam 2023: Group 1 (the new syllabus): Financial Reporting (for 100 Marks) Strategic Financial Management (for 100 Marks) Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics (for 100 Marks) Corporate and Economic Laws Part I: Corporate Laws ( for 70 marks) Part II: Economic Laws (for 30 marks). Group 2: 5. Strategic Cost Management and Performance Evaluation (for 100 Marks) The CA Final Exam will be 3 hours long. To be eligible for the CA Final exam, candidates must register on or before July 1, 2023, for the November/December 2023 exams.
