What is Bluetooth Messaging?

  • Bluetooth, is a short-range wireless system supported by mobile devices and is the transmission medium used for proximity messaging.

  • The process of proximity messaging involves setting up Bluetooth "broadcasting" equipment (i.e. ‘server’) at a particular location and sending out information to Bluetooth enabled mobile phones.

  • Messages can be text, images, audio or video to Bluetooth enabled mobile phones that are within range of the broadcast server.
