  1. Kindergarten Open House“ A day in the life of a Kindergartner”

  2. Essential Information • Arrival Time: 7:25 (Late bell rings at 7:45) • You may walk your child to the class ON THE FIRST DAY. However, we are asking that your child use his/her regular transportation mode after Tuesday. “A quick good-bye makes for dry eyes”. • Please make sure that your child is wearing his/her classroom name tag for the first two weeks.

  3. Transportation • If your child will be in ASP, (After School Program) please make sure that you fill out theblueenrollment form. • Starting this year, your child will be able to bring a water bottle on the bus. • Please make sure you establish a consistent mode of transportation for your child beginning Tuesday, August 4th.

  4. Snack – Lunch - Ice Cream • Please provide your child with one healthy snack each day. Clearly label the snack with your child’s name. • Lunch is $1.65. An account can be set up through Meal Pay so you can pay online. Meal Pay can be found on Liberty’s website. • Ice cream costs $1.00. To avoid confusion, please make sure your child’s ice cream money is separate from his/her lunch money. Exact change is required for ice cream. Specific days will be given to purchase ice cream.

  5. Student Day Planner/Red Daily Folder • ALL communication should be written in your child’s student day planner on the correct date. This includes transportation changes, excuses for being absent, and any other important notes for the teacher. • Please check and clean out your child’s red daily folder each day. This folder will contain important information from both the teacher and school. • Both the student day planner and red folder should be brought to school every day.

  6. Specials & Recess • Your child will be attending specials from 9:05-9:50. Your child’s teacher will be sending home your class’ schedule. • We offer PE, Music, Art, and Counseling. • On the days your class has PE, tennis shoes are required. • We also encourage your child to wear tennis shoes to school on a regular basis due to the wood chips on the playground. We are active all day and moving about the classroom, and tennis shoes are the safest shoes to wear.

  7. Assessment • Report Cards/GKIDS • Star Early Literacy • Running Records • Successmaker

  8. Accelerated Reader (AR) • Students will check out AR books from our Media Center. • He/she will need to have these books read to them at least THREE TIMES before taking a comprehension test on the computer. • You will need to fill out the information in your child’s AR folder and send it in on the day he/she is ready to be tested. • A list of AR books is provided on our Media Center website. • Be on the look-out for more information.

  9. Parent Volunteers • It is important to be involved in your child’s learning process, and volunteering at your child’s school and/or classroom is a great way to stay connected. • If you are available, we would love for you to come in a help out in our classroom. This can be done in a variety of ways. Please ask me about it today. 

  10. Supplies • 4 Packs of Crayons • Primary Journal
