Properties of Foundry sand which is commonly called casting sand as well as comprises clean is evenly sized and high-quality silica sand is bonded to form the mold for both ferrous and non-ferrous metal casting. Moisture Contains 01 Moisture in the sand will determine its strength. The moisture in the sand must be neither very low nor very high. Flow Ability 02 High flow ability is considered as best as it creates the best molds which help in castings. Reusability 03 One of the greatest properties of foundry sand is it can be reused for other major work as well. Refractory Strength 04 This means the mold will not break, melt, or crack. As molding sand shall withstand extreme heat and temperature.
