  5. Resilience-based Approach Local level Resilience =ability of an individual, household, community, country or region to prepare for, to withstand, to adapt, and to quickly recover from stresses and shocks without compromising long-term development prospects. National level

  6. Main Target Areas 220 most vulnerable communities (UNHCR, UNICEF, UNDP, MOSA) Palestinian Gatherings with highest PRS density 86% of Syrian refugees 50% PRS 67% of Lebanese vulnerable population

  7. Host communities • More than 100 projects implemented to improve livelihoods, water management, waste management, basic services (education, health) • Partnership with MOSA, UNHCR, Municipalities Solid waste plant – West Bekaa Union of cooperatives – North Bekaa

Palestinian Gatherings • National Observatory for the Palestinian Gatherings @ LPDC • 55 Infrastructure projects in 22 Gatherings • 300 houses rehabilitated and equipped • Partnership with LPDC, UNRWA, UN-Habitat, Municipalities, Palestinian Popular Committees Planning solutions together Sewage and rainwater disposal, near Ain El Helwe

Key National Institutions • PMO: Formulation of the National Response Plan, creation of the Crisis Room and protocols for crisis management and response • LAF: Finalization for CIMIC Strategy and establishment of CIMIC Unit, in cooperation with UNIFIL and UNSCOL ..and at the airport Man-made disaster simulation at PMO.. New CIMIC Unit at the LAF HQs
