  1. Chemical Revolution By Ebelin Gomez, Kelvin Gonzalez, and Denisse Vigil

  2. Background on Revolution • The chemical revolution was between the 17 & 18th century. • It was a time when scientists invented new things and discovered elements. • Chemistry was developed. • With this new knowledge they were able to create new things such as the chemical battery, carbonated water, matches, kool-aid, the atomic bomb and the list goes on.

  3. Choice of invention/model • Our choice on invention was the atomic bomb FAT BOY!! • We chose this model because it seemed fun to do and we all agreed that it was going to be a challenge and we were all up to a challenge. • Also, everyone seemed to be doing mostly the same thing and we wanted to do one that no one had chosen.

  4. Description of Inventor • The inventor of the atomic bomb was Dr.Chien-Shiung Wu (Madam Wu) • Her origin was China & her primary language was Chinese. • In most of her pictures she looks serious & like a classy lady.

  5. Significance of Invention/Model • The significance of the invention was so the U.S. could defeat Hitler,during World War ll.

  6. Impact on society/consequences • The Atomic Bomb had a good impact on society because it meant they had a new weapon to use in wars.The Atomic Bomb had a bad impact on society as well because it could kill a lot of people.

  7. How model represents progress • Our model represents progress because it was a new model of an Atomic Bomb. • It was also made to help defeat Hitler in World War 2.

  8. Scale and Dimensions of model • The scale of our model is .1875 • The dimensions are L:24 in.- H:12 in.-W/D:11.25 in. • We chose these dimensions because they were not too big, and they were not too small. They were the perfect size and the model came out with the exact measurements.

Materials Chosen and why • The materials we chose were : • -2 poster boards • -1 tri-fold foam board • -1 regular foam board • -newspaper • We chose these materials because they are easy to use and they were sturdy enough to hold our project together. Also, we had to get some of these materials at the last minute. But we finished and that is what matters!!

  12. How you built the model • It took us a long time to even plan out the model. • When it came to building the model, we were so frustrated. Ebelin and I were so mad when we couldn’t even get the body shape right. • We crumpled up newspaper and it was pretty hard to do the shape. • When we started on the wings, (that was Ebelin’s part), she took a long time, but we she got the job done and that is what counts.

Artistic Representation of Model • Drawing the model was challenging & fun! • At first I thought it was going to be hard because I had no idea on how I was going to draw the back & front view of the atomic bomb. • But with the help of my group members I figured it out. • I ended up drawing the side view of it, which was not that hard.

What Went Well During The Process • Something that went well during the process was that we worked together we were committed to finishing the model. • We ignored what people said about our model. • We had a lot of people criticizing our model that it looked nothing like a bomb & many more things.

  16. Difficulties You Encountered • Some difficulties we encountered were that the material we thought was going to work didn’t end up working. • We had to find materials at the last minute. • We also, had a hard time doing the shape of the atomic bomb.

WHICH NORM DID YOU PRACTICE AND WHY? • The norms that we practiced were: • -GIVE DIGNITY • -BE A PRECENSE • -ANTICIPATE NEED • We were practicing these norms because they were the most important ones at the time of the construction. Those norms also proved that we respect one another as friends group members.

  18. Which ESLR it relates most to and why • I think that the ESLR that relates the most is A Creative Mind. • The reason why I think that a creative mind related the most is because we came up with new ideas & thought outside the box.
