  3. Background Project Delivery • Over 1000 local families affected • Developed in conjunction with Capability Scotland (National voluntary organisation) • Specialist Support to other (WFF funded) provision in Renfrewshire • PHASE 2 Project – April 2006

  4. Service Delivery – Work4All • Parents with children with an additional support need • Access to Childcare • Assisting financially with the cost of Childcare (Sustainable) • Capacity Building – With Local Childcare Providers • Employability (Tax Credit System, Other WFF Provision) • Inter-Agency Support • Sustainability

Progress to Date • 55 Families Assisted • 14 Into Work • 16 Families Sustaining Work • 17 Families engaging pre-employmenrt services • 8 Into Training & Other • 20 Childcare Providers plus 45 childminders engaging in capacity building activity. TARGET = 10 • Targets for families assisted to March 2008 – 120

Key Barriers (Frustrations) • Provider Perceptions and accessibility of premises • Conflicting Advice • Higher cost of childcare for some children with higher needs • Restriction in OOSC because of upper age limit – we support young people up to 18yrs – no provision and no pick up • Job centre referrals low

Key Barriers – Tax Credit System • Limitations on the levels of award based on Family circumstances • Inflexible – Calculations are based on a 52 week average (Holiday Cover & Short Term Childcare) • Conflicting Advice • System does not recognise PT Workers that require FT care. • Does not recognise Higher Education
