Our Roles & Responsibilities According to the WAAAUB bylaws “The Committee for Chapters shall develop strong links among WAAAUB, its constituent groups and among its chapters assist the Chapters in complying and monitor their compliance with the WAAAUB Chapter Policies and Procedures recommend to the WAAAUB Board the approval of new chapters or the termination of the status of existing chapters which fail to meet the requirements of the WAAAUB Chapter Policies and Procedures “from time to time” review and recommend changes to the ChapterPolicies and Procedures to the WAAAUB Board. nominate to the WAAAUB Board the candidates for the Distinguishedalumni and OutstandingAlumniChapter awards. “ November 2010 WAAAUB North American Regional Gathering Ann Arbor, MI

  5. Strategy 2010-2011 Conduct regional and individual meetings with alumni chapters worldwide Revitalize existing dormant chapters; establish new ones. Collect news of chapters events Coordinate with the Outreach Committee for alumni data updates from chapters’ resources Assist with compliance to WAAAUB Chapter Policies and Procedures Nominate to the WAAAUB Board the candidates for the Distinguished alumni and Outstanding Alumni Chapter awards November 2010 WAAAUB North American Regional Gathering Ann Arbor, MI

North American Chapters Update • Number of chapters: 26; 4 dormant to re-activate (Houston, Miami, Pittsburgh, Syracuse) • All chapters complying with Chapter Policies and Procedures; completing annual reports • New chapters: Seattle established, MidSouth to come •  Assessing the viability of establishing the following chapters: San Diego and Western Canada (Alberta/Calgary) • 3rd North American Regional Meeting: Nov 12-14, 2010 November 2010 WAAAUB North American Regional Gathering Ann Arbor, MI

Europe UpdateDr. Talal Farah, Coordinator • European Chapters • United Kingdom • Paris • Geneva • Athens • Cyprus • Turkey Geneva • Number of chapters: 5; 3 dormant to re-activate: Athens , Cyprus and Turkey • Recent elections in Geneva and Paris; UK chapter holding full calendar of events • Chapters are active and in compliance with WAAAUB Chapters Policies and procedures

Lebanon Chapters Update 2009-2010 Chapters in Lebanon Bekaa, Mount Lebanon, North Lebanon, South Lebanon, Agricultural and Food Sciences, Engineering and Architecture, Health Sciences, Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, Computer Science • Number of Chapters 13; 3 dormant to re-activate (Business, North and South Lebanon) • Engineering and Bekaa Chapters successfully reactivated; elections held summer 2010 • New chapter forthcoming: Landscape • Looking forward to: bringing all 13 Lebanon chapters under the umbrella of WAAAUB • 7 chapters out of the 13 are under the umbrella of WAAAUB

  12. WAAAUB Awards • Develop the criteria for recognizing outstanding alumni and chapters • Oversee nominations and selection process •  Awards to be presented at WAAAUB Convention, June 2011 November 2010 WAAAUB North American Regional Gathering Ann Arbor, MI

Our future plans include: • Developing stronger partnership with Chapters • Developing and continue our communication and coordination strategy among chapters, with WAAAUB, AUB leadership, and area chapters • Conducting more chapters visits • Reactivating dormant chapters in all regions November 2010 WAAAUB North American Regional Gathering Ann Arbor, MI
