Mill Dog #251 As a breeding dog, #251 lived 7 years of her life, in a small wire cage, with no human contact and no vet care. She was never taken outside of her cage.
Lily National Mill Dog Rescue was inspired by #251, named Lily. Theresa Strader rescued her from an auction in Missouri and founded NMDR in February 2007 in her honor.
Humble Beginnings NMDR was initially located at Theresa & Rich Strader’s family home in Black Forest.
And only two years later… NMDR moved to a new facility in Peyton, Colorado.
What is National Mill Dog Rescue? NMDR Mission Statement To rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home discarded breeding dogs and to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog breeding industry.
How does NMDR help dogs? Volunteers save dogs from mills in several states and transport them to a safe place.
Once there, the dogs receive all the care they need RESCUES ARE WELCOMED AT LILY’S HAVEN
