Inquire at the Circulation Desk for details or call 974-8432 for more information Special Events: Schedule and instructional calendar listed on our Website: http://library.hsc.usf.edu/ The Health Sciences Library, founded in 1971, serves the students, faculty, and staff of the colleges of medicine, nursing, public health, and the school of physical therapy. In November of 1998, the Library was renamed for benefactors Hinks and Elaine Shimberg. The Library collects materials to meet the needs of its primary patrons. Formats include books, journals, computer software, Audiovisual, and online resources.   2. Library Catalog • The USF Libraries online catalog includes items available in the collections of all USF Libraries. The State University System (SUS) Union catalog holds the contents of all SUS libraries. • New databases & Internet information sources are added to the catalog when acquired. • Online Public Access Computers are available on the 1st floor of the Library. • Remote access is available from home or office. • Help is available at the Reference or Circulation Desk. InterLibrary Loan (ILL) ILL service is available to USF Health faculty, staff, and students when books or journal articles are not available in the Library. For more information see the ILL department in Room 2204 or call 974-2123 (7:30 am – 4:15 pm, Mon – Fri) Circulation Policy The Shimberg Health Sciences Library limits circulation privileges to USF faculty, staff, and students. Books may be checked out for 3 weeks, with one renewal permitted. Journals, Audiovsual and reference materials do not circulate. RESERVES Materials are placed on reserve by faculty members and are available at the Circulation Desk. Picture ID must be left at the Circulation Desk in order to check out these materials. OVERDUE BOOKS The Library does not charge fines for overdue books. Thirty (30) days after the book becomes overdue, the borrower is invoiced for the replacement cost of the book. Library privileges are suspended until the debt is paid or the book is returned. Failure to pay for lost materials may also result in inability to register for classes, receive transcripts, receive grades, and/or graduate. Return books to the Library Circulation Desk or deposit them in the curbside drop-box located in Parking Lot #30. Older editions are on the 2nd floor. Oversized books, and those books shelved by call numbers WY-Z are located on the 2nd floor.
