  2. How to participate on a webinar • 1) Chat & Questions. If you do NOT have access to a mic and do not call in with a phone, you can use the Questions feature to type a question that you want to ask to the presenters. At the end of the presentation, the facilitator will read out loud any questions that come through this feature. • 2) Raise Hand. For most of the webinar, all participants will be in listen-only mode, meaning that they will be muted. When the presenter opens the floor for questions, people will not be unmuted unless they use the Raise Hand function. • 3) Surveys.After the webinar ends, a link will be emailed to you to participate in a survey. We encourage ALL participants to participate.

Advantages Why You need Work experience More likely to be successful in job hunt, especially if you get an interview Helps you figure out your career choice/path Shows passion and interest Introduces you to the dos and don’t’s, navigation through work environment Gain valuable skills (i.e. time management, organization, effective communication, prioritizing, and so much more!) Networking!!! Helps make future contacts! Something to put on your resume/CV Money Puts theory into practice  Campus2Career It just looks good!

How To search for a JOB/ Internship • Location: • Local • Out-of-State • International • Varies • Payment Types: • Wage • By the hour, day, week • Salary • Annual; fixed rate • Stipend • Credit • Unpaid • Availability: • Season (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring) • Year-Around • Weekends only • Day vs. Graveyard Shifts

How to Obtain a job/Internship Tips to Keep in Mind • Know ALL of the qualifications and requirements before you apply (i.e. GPA, year in school, preferred skills, experience, etc.) • Check the location, availability, payment type (slide#7) • Do research on the company/employer before an interview • ALWAYS put your name in the titles of documents (i.e. resumes, cover letters, etc.) you submit • Have your references available at request if you do not already have them • Always follow-up with any opportunity you apply to!
