Registration & D2L • Bertha & The Outreach College register you • Check your registration at uaccess.arizona.edu • Refer to Chandler Cohort Program of Study to know what courses you are taking each session • Desire 2 Learn – D2L – Course Management System
Tuition/Financial Aid • You will be billed by Outreach (unless you are receiving a waiver, Peace Corps Fellowship or Grad College Assistance) • Must pay by the first day of classes • Be careful about coordinating your financial aid
Planning ahead for Certification • Fingerprint Card • Institutional Recommendation • The UA will issue this to you when you graduate • Structured English Immersion • You complete these requirements in Teach Arizona • US/Arizona Constitution • Take the test through AEPA or take a class.
Arizona Professional Exams • AEPA – Content Area Exam and Professional Knowledge Exam • Content Area/Middle Grades • Professional Knowledge – last administration 7/7/12 • NES Assessment of Professional Knowledge (APK) • Replaces AEPA Professional Knowledge • Effective September 2012 Take them during the summer or fall – don’t put them off!
Program of Study • Three cohorts: • Tucson 1 • Tucson 2 • Chandler • What happens between July 30 & August 20? • Chandler cohort summer hybrid courses meet face-to-face Fridays; Fall/Spring hybrid courses meet at least once a month on Saturdays

Attendance & Professionalism • Expected to attend classes and internship dates as arranged • Online Persona • Professional Dress • Appropriate voice mail message • Appropriate relationships with colleagues and students
Student Teaching Internship • Tucson Cohorts – Dr. Roth makes placements • Chandler Cohort – Dr. Rutowski makes placements • You will visit and observe the potential cooperating teacher • Required paperwork • Student Teaching Agreement Form • Cooperating Teacher Information Sheet
Fingerprint Clearance Card • Must have a card that’s valid through May, 2013 • If you don’t have a card, get fingerprinted and apply • Tucson Cohort - May 21, 12:00-2:30 or May 22, 12:00-2:00 • Chandler Cohort – May 18, 11:30-12:30 • Once you receive the card: • Tucson Cohorts – scan and email to Dr. Roth • Chandler Cohort – scan and email to Dr. Rutowski • Cannot begin field internship in August unless you have a card and we have a copy of it
