  1. 4-3-2-1 • 4 groups of people in the social hierarchy of Feudalism. Remember the different levels! • 3 vocabwords with the definition • 2 key figures (people) from the Middle Ages AND why they are important. • 1 reason why the nobles wanted King John to sign the Magna Carta.

  2. The Hundred Years’ War(1337 – 1453) • England vs. France • They were fighting over the French throne (who should be king of France) • English introduced the longbow (“the machine gun of the Middle Ages”) which gave them an advantage over the French

  3. Joan of Arc was a French peasant girl who believed she heard voices telling her to help the French in battle • Her most famous victory was the Battle of Orleans • Joan of Arc was eventually captured in battle by the English • Joan was condemned as a witch and a heretic because of her claim to hear voices • Joan was burned at the stake on May 30, 1431 • Her death inspired the French to victory

  4. Effects of Hundred Years’ War • A feeling of nationalism emerged in England and France • The power of the French king increased • The English suffered a period of internal turmoil • This is the end of the Middle Ages – religious devotion and chivalry are gone

  5. Rap/Poem • Write a four line rap or poem about either the Hundred Years War or the Bubonic Plague. • The rap or poem must rhyme. You may use an AABB or ABAB rhyme scheme.
