Drugs & Pharmaceuticals • SG Pharmaceuticalsstarted in collaboration with J R Geigy of Switzerland. • Sarabhai M Chemicalswas pioneer in the manufacture of Vitamin-C in collaboration with E Merck of West Germany. • Standard Pharmaceuticalswas a leading manufacturer of penicillin. • Synbiotics was the largest antibiotic manufacturing complex in India in the Pvt. Sector in collaboration with E R Squibb of USA.

Petrochemicals, Industrial Chemicals, Intermediates, Agrochemicals, Dyesand Pigments Detergents, Toiletries and Cosmetics • SG Chemicals & Dyes was established in 1955 in technical collaboration with J R Geigy, Switzerland. • Swastik was pioneer in the production of industrial, household detergents & soaps in India. • It was the exclusive manufacturer of the international renowned Max Factor beauty aids in India. • WHITCO was a detergent manufacturing unit with capacity of 10000 tons located at Kalol, Panchmahal District.

Electronics & Computers • Systronics manufactures a wide range of electronic test, laboratory, medical and industrial instruments. • It is also the agent for Beckman (USA) and Bruckner (West Germany). • ORG Systems was an established leader in software development. • Telerad – producer of TVs and CCTVs and distributor of Sony Professional Video equipment in India.

  13. Industrial Machinery & Packing • Sarabhai Machinery had collaboration with • 1. Avesta (Sweden) 2.Pannevis (Holland) 3.Krauss Maffei (West Germany) 4. Luscher (Switzerland) 5. Bruckner (West Germany) & 6. Sakaphen (West Germany). • ASE manufactured specialized packaging materials for its own products.

Industrial Research Development Consultancy • SRC had 110 scientists for research in Pharmaceutical, Chemical & Electronic field. • It had also a very large animal house facility for undertaking extensive toxicological and safety test of drugs, agrochemicals etc. • Operations Research Group (ORG)was a leading multi-disciplinary research and consultancy organization specializing in consumer and marketing research.

Trading • ASE is engaged in distribution of industrial and consumer goods through channels of wholesale, semi-wholesale & retail outlets. • WIPS was a leading authorized dealer for Gujarat of Philips welding electrodes and industrial luminaries, NGEF electro-motors, BCH switchgear, MECO measuring instruments, OZR shock guards, etc. • Cotton & Cloth operated a chain of Dept. Stores known as “Shahibag” in greater Bombay. • Sarabhai International Ltd. was registered Export House. • P T Kamal Tex was a joint venture of ASE in Indonesia manufacturing Cotton, Polyester, Rayon and Blended Yarn and Sewing Thread.
