History of the film • Auschwitz- The best known of all Nazi death camps during the holocaust. • Work camps and death camp (Birkenau) • Estimated 2.1-2.5 million killed in gas chambers at Auschwitz • Divided into three camps: Auschwitz I- Main Camp, Auschwitz II (Birkenau)- Death Camp, and Monowitz- Labor camp

  6. Oskar Schindler • Greedy German business man. • Was an unlikely hero by turning his pots and pans business into a Jewish refuge. • Saved an estimated 1100 Jewish prisoners
