  3. Anorexia • WHAT IS ANEROXIA? • A DISEASE IN WHICH A PERSON STARVES THEMSELVES

WARNING SIGNS OF ANEROXIA • INTENSE FEAR OF GAINING WEIGHT • SKIPS MEALS BY MAKING UP EXCUSES • WILL NOT EAT INFRONT OF OTHERS • WEARS BAGGY CLOTHING • DENIAL OF HUNGER • EXCESSIVE EXERCISING • HAIR GROWTH ON BODY AND FACE • HAIR LOSS ON HEAD • ABSENT OR IRREGULAR MENSTRUAL PERIOD • READS FOOD LABELS CONSTANTLY • MOODY/IRRITABLE/DEPRESS/LONELY/ANXIOUS

  6. BULIMIA • WHAT IS BUILIMA • Frequent episodes of binge eating followed by one of the following • Vomiting • Using laxatives • Fasting • Over exercising • A person who binges and purges regularly • Someone with this eating disorder can be normal weight or even overweight

  7. FREQUENT TRIPS TO THE BATHROOM THIS IS WHAT EVENTUALLY HAPPENS TO YOUR TEEH FROM PURGING A PERSON BINGE EATING THEN… THEY MIGHT PURGE, USE A LAXITIVE OR FAST

  8. Warning signs of bulimia • Worried about body weight • Excessive food consumption • Frequent trips to the bathroom • Blood shot eyes • Sore throat • Dental problems (tooth enamel wears away) • Very upset with body size, shape and weight

  9. Women are at a higher risk for eating disorders • That does not mean that men do not have them

  10. CONSEQUENCES OF POOR NUTRITION • SHORT TERM CONSEQUENCES • HUNGER • AGGITATION • LACK OF FOCUS • MOODINESS • LONG TERM CONSEQUENCES • OBESITY • HEART DISEASE • DIABETES • OSTEOPOROSIS
