ITVS MISSION 2014 Native Media Summit The Independent Television Service (ITVS) brings independently-produced, high-quality public broadcast and new media programs to local, national and international audiences. The independent producers who create ITVS programs take creative risks, tackle complex issues and express points of view seldom explored in the mass communities, and reflect the interests and concerns of a diverse society.

  4. ITVS Funding Initiatives 2014 Native Media Summit • Open Call • LINCS • Diversity Development Fund (DDF) • And acquisition for Independent Lens

  5. 2014 Native Media Summit • Funding initiatives are not grants. ITVS agreements assign certain important rights over the project during the term of the contract.

  6. Open Call 2014 Native Media Summit • Production Funding • Deadlines are in June and January • Average ask is $150-350,000 • Typically fund 4-6 projects per round • It’s a 6 month review process

  7. LINCS 2014 Native Media Summit • Production funding • Deadline is rolling • Awards up to $100,000 • Must have a station as a co-producing partner • Completed within one year of contract • Also looking for transmedia projects

  8. Diversity Development Fund 2014 Native Media Summit • Research & Development funding • Up to $15,000 to develop treatment & work sample • Deadline is in August • Six month contract
