Why APEC?APEC is an incubator of ideas for regional economic integration. These ideas should be based at the extensive body of reference material for policy makers in the form of best practices, non-binding principles and guidelines as well as related statistics. The key word is RESPONSIBILITY Example: APEC study used a Computable General Equilibrium model to estimate the effects of a Free Trade Area of the Asia Pacific in 2009.

Is there duplication?NO! APEC IOT should be very practically oriented and related to APEC’s specific problems.
