  1. Blues Music Blues music is when slavery makes their own instrument, the way to tell of unhappiness. Music played an important part in their lives of African slaves because it expressed unhappiness, for healing, lullabies and for the tunes. The most popular instrument is used is the Drums. The African slaves made Drums of many different shapes and sizes. By princess Kamara

  2. Jaw bones • Jaw bones became scrapers when the teeth were scraped with keys or metal. The slaves also made a string instrument. The most popular was the fiddle which was played with a curved bow.

  3. Why were African slaves forced to go to America? • The African slaves were forced to go to America because they became slaves and needed to work for them. Life was horrible for the Africans because the families were split up and they were treated badly. They forced Africans to work for the whole hour and they never got paid. Many died on their journey by sailing. If the slaves were sick the masters threw the sick slaves into the sea, because they don’t want the other slaves to catch it.

  4. When were the slaves set free? • They were set free in 1865, but their freedom was worse than slavery because the slaves were still held down by appalling poverty and deprived.
