  2. What is Jailbreaking? • Jailbreaking is unlocking the source software of your iOS device, allowing you to install third-party software.

  3. Step 1 • Install the Redsn0w software on your computer. le redsn0w

  4. Step 2 • Connect your iOS device using a sync cable, turn it off, and open Reds0w. le syncing iOS device

  5. Step 3 • Select the option that says "Jailbreak: Jailbreak and Install Cydia." le Jailbreak option

  6. Step 4 • Enter DFU Mode as instructed by the software wizard. le DFU Mode

  7. Step 5 • Click, "just boot tethered right now," and your device should go through a loading screen as it installs the new OS. le Booting Tethered option

  8. Step 6 • When the loading screen is done, unplug your device and open the newly downloaded "Cydia" application. le Cydia

  18. Stakeholders: Consumers • The common consumer uses Cydia to unlock their device, and use the tweaks and apps made available through Cydia. • They benefit from improving the capabilities of their devices.

  19. What does Apple think? • Apple strongly disapproves of Jailbreaking their devices, and doing so voids your warranty, and you will be unable to get it repaired if it does break.

  20. Conclusion Jailbreaking increases the versatility of your device immensely. However, it can be dangerous and unreliable to do so.
