Binge eating leads to a wide variety of physical, emotional, and social problems. [2] • Over time, compulsive overeating usually leads to obesity. Binge eating disorder affects about 3.5% of women and 2% of men over the course of a lifetime, with most developing the condition during adolescence or early adulthood. [3] • About one-third of individuals with binge eating disorder are males. [3] • About 65% of people with binge eating disorder are obese (20% overweight or more), with even more being generally overweight. [3] • The Total Enrollment at CSUSB in 2011 was: 6555 male, 10695 female. That's about 375 females and 131 males on campus who suffer from this disease. This numbers would probably be higher due to the extra pressures a student may have to deal with. Stats
