  5. Causes of Binge Eating Disorder • It is a mental health problem. • The person is usually under stress. • They may be trying to cope with the problems that are causing the stress. • The person usually feels as if they have no control over the eating.

Signs and Symptoms of a Binge Eater • Men are more likely to be binge eaters than anorexics or bulimics. • The person will eat enormous amounts of food repeatedly- usually several times a week. • The amounts of food that is consumed is much greater than the amounts that the average person would eat. • Weight gain and possible obesity.
