  1. POLLUTION IN TOLMIN

  2. Tolmin is considered as one of the least polluted towns in Slovenia. There are a lot of forests in the area, which also contributes to the clean air. There are two rivers near Tolmin, the Tolminka and the Soča which are also very clean.

  3. POLLUTION OF SOIL AND WATER Pesticides, acid rain (pollution of the air) are the most harmful for rivers and underground waters. Both also harm the soil. A lot of damage is also caused by the waste that is dumped in nature especially into rivers.

  4. WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS: - Industrial wastewater: wastewater that is produced in craftwork, industry or agricultural activity- Communal wastewater: wastewater produced in households- Rain wastewater

  5. Wastewaters form households are getting more polluted every day because of chemical detergents and that is why it is not allowed to throw it directly into the environment. Wastewater treatment plants allow us to return the water we are using in households back to nature being mechanically and biologically cleansed according to European laws.

  6. We have many wastewater treatment plants around Tolmin.

  7. AIR POLLUTION Exhaust gases and industrial fumes are the main reason for air pollution.

  8. WASTE SEPARATION: Waste separation also contributes to a cleaner environment. Collection centers are intended for seperation of waste that is suitable for further processing. Waste gets sorted and when they get a sufficient quantity, they are given to authorized experts.

  9. The Soča which is still a very clean river near Tolmin
