Problem #1

When you mow the lawn with a 20 kg push-mower, the handles you push on make an angle of 25 degrees. There is friction of 25 N pushing against you. Determine how hard you push on the mower to keep it moving at a constant speed.

Problem #2

Using a rope, you pull a 0.5 kg object with a force of 4 N at an angle of 35˚. The coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.35. What is its acceleration? How much is the normal force? How many pounds of force are you pulling with?
