Enhancing Communication Technologies and Interoperability for First Responders and Security Agencies

The Center for Security Studies at the Hellenic Ministry of Public Order, led by Dr. Georgios Leventakis, focuses on improving communication technologies and interoperability among first responders. With participation from 18 active police and emergency officers and 35 senior researchers, KEMEA is involved in over 25 ongoing projects under the FP7 security theme. The initiative aims to identify gaps in communication needs, organize interoperability test cases, and support procurement initiation while establishing an EU Validation Center for effective emergency response.
