  1. More Than Conquerors Romans 8:31-38

  2. More Than Conquerors Romans 8:31-38 The Value of a Renewed Mind The Lies of Long Battle The Thought of Overcomers

  3. The Value of a Renewed Mind “What then shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him give us all things?” Romans 8:31

  4. The Value of a Renewed Mind “And Nehemiah…and Ezra…and the Levites…said to all the people, ‘This day is holy to the Lord your God: do not mourn or weep.’ For all the people wept as they heard the words of the Law. Then he said to them, ‘Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine … for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.’ ” Nehemiah 8:9, 10

  5. The Value of a Renewed Mind

  6. The Lies of Long Battle “Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died - more than that, who was raised - who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?

  7. The Lies of Long Battle As it is written, ‘For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.’ ” Romans 8:33-36

  8. The Lies of Long Battle • The Lie of Hopelessness • The Lie of God’s Nature

  9. The Lies of Long Battle The Lie of Hopelessness • I’m not ready for this, I can’t make it, I can’t do it…who do you think you are? • I’m not smart, gifted enough, I don’t have enough power for this, I’m not connected enough, I’m not righteous enough…I’m not worthy enough for this!

  10. The Lies of Long Battle The Lie of Hopelessness • I am never getting out of this, In the past I was, I did this, I cannot shake it off…there is not future hope for me. • It doesn’t matter what I do, Nothing I do will have any effect, I can’t be good enough, My prayers aren’t heard…God could have answered by now.

  11. The Thoughts of Overcomers The Lie of Hopelessness James 5:16 – My prayers are powerful and effective. Romans 15:13 – I can overflow with hope by the Holy Spirit’s power. Luke 22:2, Hebrews 12:24 – I am in covenant with Almighty God, sealed in the blood of His Son.

  12. The Thoughts of Overcomers The Lie of Hopelessness Proverbs 23:18, Jeremiah 29:11 – There is surely a future for me which cannot be cut off. 1 John 3:1 – I am the deeply loved child of the Living God

  13. The Lies of Long Battle The Lie of God’s Nature • I’ve done all I can; what more does He expect? … God isn’t faithful anymore. • He doesn’t care; He won’t help; He’s distant and disinterested; what else can I do to earn His love? … He doesn’t love me. • God has made me sick so that I can learn something; I’ll bear this so that I can grow spiritually mature … God is pleased with my suffering.

  14. The Thoughts of Overcomers The Lie of God’s Nature Psalm 55:22, 1 Peter 5:7 – He cares deeply about what happens in my life. Psalm 103:12, Hebrews 10:17-19 – My sins and lawless deeds are removed from me and no longer remembered. John 14:12 – Jesus wants me to do greater works than He did.

  15. The Thoughts of Overcomers The Lie of God’s Nature 2 Peter 3:18 – Jesus plans for me to grow up in love, in the knowledge of Him, in grace, faith, and understanding – not in suffering.

  16. The Thoughts of Overcomers “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39

  17. The Thoughts of Overcomers “So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty-two days. And when all our enemies heard of it, all the nations around us were afraid and fell greatly in their own esteem, for they perceived that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.” Nehemiah 6:15, 16
