  2. River Basin is the land area drained by a river and its tributaries. Estuary is a body of water in which fresh water from rivers mixes with salt water from the ocean in shoreline areas. It includes bays, inlets and harbors.

  3. Estuary

  4. Watershed or Drainage is an area of land in which water drains into a stream system. Groundwater is water held underground. Divide is a continuous high line of land-or ridge-from which water drains to one side or the other.

  5. Ecosystemis a community of biotic factors(plants, animals and microbes) in conjunction with the abiotic factors of their environment (things like air, water and mineral soil), interacting as a system.

  6. Wetlands are wet, swampy areas that are often flooded with water. • Intertidal Zone is the habitat at the edge of the ocean between the high tidemark and the low tide mark.
