  4. STUDENT SUPPLIES • #2 pencils! • Three ringed binder with dividers • Hand held pencil sharpener with shaving compartment • A correcting pen • Pencil Pouch (small and not a box) • Non-Spiral Bound Notebook • Crayons/Colored Pencils

  5. CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT • Classroom agreements-rules agreed upon • Classroom consequences-student generated • Classroom monetary system-motivate students • Group points-to earn bonus dollars • Preferred Activity Time

  6. STUDENT EXPECTATIONS • Come to class prepared and on time • Be respectful to others and self • Take responsibility for own actions and words • Be ready to cooperate in the classroom and playground

  7. CLASS MANAGEMENT • Scholar Dollars • Student Jobs • Bi-weekly paychecks with amount based on level of performance • No Homework = Detention Notice

  9. Common Core National Standards • Third through Sixth grade focus is on English Language Arts, Literacy in History/Social Science, and Science and Technical Subjects for school year 2012-2013 • School year 2013-2014 focus is Mathematics

  16. Grading Policy • We will use electronic report card based on district guidelines • Projects and tests 50% of grade • Quizzes 30% of grade • Homework and class work 20% of grade • Math class work will be on a scale of 1 to 5 • Spelling 50% homework and 50% test

  17. HOMEWORK • District’s allocated time is 1 hour and 15 minutes daily • Students will be assigned homework Monday-Thursday with occasional weekend assignments • All assignments will be in agenda • If absent, students have one day to complete assignments
