  7. HOW DOES MR. MARTIN COMMUNICATE A CLEAR SENSE OF DIRECTION? • Monthly meetings • Transparency in the culture (not workforce vs. management) • Work together to solve problems leading to a better work environment, cohesiveness. • Inspirational stories

  8. HOW DOES MR. MARTIN BUILD A TEAM AROUND HIM? • Transform problems into a solution together • Transform the institution, offer more certificates • Build morale with employee recognition programs • Know your staff. Know what they find rewarding.

MARTIN LEAD BY EXAMPLE? • Be there on Saturday without pay • Take care of employees • Willing to contribute to the development of others. • Maintain good personal relationships • Goal is to have everyone involved in achieving a goal. Leaders are to help followers see the vision of the company.

  10. Mr. Martin’s Important Leadership Skills • Communication. Know where you are going and how to get there. • Have a Vision. Communicate the vision to others. • Lead by example. Set high expectations. Followers must understand the vision.

  11. Conclusion • The experience of talking to a leader and learning from him is extremely valuable. • Mr. Martin Truly believes that a leader is not born it is made. • Overall I think this assignment was very beneficial to our success in the real world.
