  4. Background • SJRWMD developed evaluation process to review their conservation holdings • June 2012- SJRWMD gave overview to BCC • Public meetings held • Sept 2012 - Staff met with SJRWMD to discuss surplus lands

  7. Potential Surplus Properties • Parcel 1 – Seminole Ranch • 110 acres • Alternative use site • Recommendation: • Lease agreement with SJRWMD to use as a campground

  8. Potential Surplus Properties • Parcel 2 – Hal Scott (SR 520) • 50% joint ownership with WMD and County • 110 acres • Adjacent to Pine LilyPreserve • Suitable for primitive camping and fishing • Recommendation: Accept donation Pine Lily Preserve

  9. Potential Surplus Properties • Parcel 3 – Pine Street • 13 acres • Located in City of Ocoee • Site is not suitable for active use • Recommendation: Do not accept donation

Potential Surplus Properties • Parcel 5 – Lake Apopka Restoration Area (Jones Ave) • 529 Acres • Site located adjacent to the proposed airport expansion & Lake Apopka North Shore Restoration Area. • Recommendation:Delay decision until a meeting can be held with Lake County, SJRWMD, interested cities, and environmental communities

  14. Action Requested Approval to continue negotiations with the St. Johns River Water Management District on accepting and/or leasing lands on Parcels 1, 2, and 4.
