  1. Call to Prayer “Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.” Isaiah 59:1

  2. The power of prayer “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place” 2 Chronicles 7:14-15

  3. Why PRAY ABOUT PROSTITUTION?“There are modern-day slaves living right here in Canada. They are often called “prostitutes,” which means we may ignore or judge them, but these women are created in the image of God. Each one holds inherent dignity and value. Yet they are victims who are sold for sex over and over again. God did not create any of us to be sold or degraded or exploited.”—Dave Hearn, President, C&MA in Canada

  4. Why Now?This Call to Prayer is urgent. Right now, our Canadian Government is considering new prostitution legislation that could make prostitution legal in Canada. They will soon be making a decision. Thisis our time to pray with ferocious resolve. This is our time to lift up individuals facing exploitation, calling on God to intervene, rescue and redeem.

  5. The c&ma position on prostitution The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada believes: • in the inherent dignity and value of all women, men and children made in the image of God • prostitution is a form of sexual exploitation, oppression and violence, especially against women and children, and seriously undermines their dignity and value • prostitution is detrimental to a healthy society The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada is therefore committed to the abolition of prostitution.

  6. As our government leaders consider new prostitution legislation: • Pray that they will make decisions to protect vulnerable women, children and men. • Pray that our leaders will listen to the voices of Canadians who stand up for the oppressed. • Pray for clear, concise laws that criminalize the buyer and decriminalize the victim. “My earnest hope is that we will seek God’s face in our Call to Prayer, and that he will heal our land.” —Dave Hearn,President, C&MA in Canada
