  1. Micah (Who is like God) From Moresheth Gath (25 miles SW of Jerusalem). Border of Judah and Philistis near Gath. Prophecy to Southern Kingdom of Judah but also concerns the Northern Kingdom of Israel (the fall of Samaria). Micah 1:1 Time of Micah (c.735 - 710 BC) King Jotham (739 - 731 BC) Ahaz (731 – 715 BC) Hezekiah (715 - 686 BC) Northern Kingdom was taken into captivity by the Assyrians in 722 BC.

  2. Assyrian Empire Tiglath-Pileser III (745 – 727 BC) Shalmaneser V (727 – 722 BC) Sargon II (722 – 705 BC) Sennacherib (705 – 681 BC) Micah 4:10 Micah foretells that Zion will be taken to Babylon and delivered. Babylon was controlled by Assyria.
