  2. About me… • Born in Chicago, IL. • Grew up in Park City, UT • Moved to Phoenix 6 years ago for a position with a healthcare company.

  3. Teaching Background… • Undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of San Diego. • Masters Degree in Secondary Education. • 3 years teaching Life Science

  4. 2010-2011 Policies & Procedures • Classroom rules • Be Respectful • Be Organized • Be Responsible • Be Nice • Be Honest • Daily Attendance- is very important for success in Biology! School and district policies regarding attendance will be strictly adhered to (Please see Student Handbook).

  5. P & P continued… • Cell phones are to be turned off during class time and remain out of sight. • A cell phone in the hand of a student during a test or quiz will result in a zero! • iPods, MP3 players, CD players, headphones, and hand held games etc… are not to be at school. School personnel are not responsible for the theft of these items if brought to school. • Food, drinks, or gum are NOT allowed in my classroom. The only exception is water in clear plastic bottles.

  6. P & P Continued… • Take off Hats while in the buildings. • What is considered Cheating/Plagarism? Copying another student’s class work or homework is considered cheating. Any student caught copying will have their paper taken and receive a zero. The student that allows another student to copy their work will also have their paper taken and receive a zero. Copying answers from another student during a test or quiz will result in a zero and a referral to the administration for cheating.

  7. Final Note and Contact Info • I look forward to teaching your child this year! • I understand some students will have specialized needs and individual plans to keep them on track in school. If you would like to speak with me about any of these I am more than happy to meet/speak with you privately at a later date. • Hawkins.Stephanie@chandler.k12.az.us • #480-224-2800 ext. 2979
