Malaysia is one of the Newly Industrialized Countries in Asia.

  • Needs highly skilled workforce to support the growth of her industrial sector.
  • Developed many vocational and technical training institutes in the fields of engineering, business and services.
  • Currently there are approximately 194 technical-vocational institutions and there are plans to increase this number during the next five year plan.
  • Total enrolment to date is over 100,000.

Vocational-Technical education in Malaysia encompasses post secondary education provided by Polytechnics, Community Colleges and Skill Training Institutes.

  • Both Polytechnics and Community Colleges are under the supervision of Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Malaysia.

Polytechnics (Diploma & Adv Diploma)

    • education and training at semi-professional level in technical, commerce and service fields and provides an alternative route to higher education for secondary school leavers
  • Community College (Certificates & short courses)
    • training and retraining facilities in various industrial skills and provides an alternative route to higher education for school leavers and the local community
    • As the hub for life long learning provides educational and training opportunities for all aimed at improving the local community’s needs and quality of life
