In 1983, ARPANET started to use TCP/IP protocol

Internet • Expansion of the Internet • 1969 to 1983: • Experimental stage • Slow expansion • Covered 20 countries • Around 200 computers got connected • 80s: • NSFNET was established on 1986 • Active research started on the Internet Technologies • ARPANET was closed on 1990, and got named as the Internet • ISPs were created on 1989 • So everyone got the opportunity to get connected to the Internet • ISOC (Internet Society) was established on 1992 • Now, you can connect to the Internet using cell phones
