Angles Exploration Activity
• Work in your groups to complete the Angles Exploration Activity Worksheet.
• You will need 11 pieces of patty paper for your group. Make sure you use PENCIL when drawing the angles.
• Team leaders are in charge of keeping their group on task.
• Be prepared to share your results at the end of the period.
• If your group finishes early raise your hand, and I will give you your practice worksheet.
What did you find out?
• In order to form a triangle, the sum of the angles has to equal 180°.
• You can create an INFINITE number of triangles using the same angle measurements.
Finding an Angle Measure in a Triangle

Find the value of x in the triangle shown.

We know that:

x + 83 + 26 = 180

x + 109 = 180

-109 -109

x = 71

So, the value of x is 71°.

You Try

Find the value of x in the triangle shown.

We know that:

x + 92 + 26 = 180

x + 118 = 180

-118 -118

x = 62

So, the value of x is 71.
