  2. Alumni Association ID Card Prior to Fiscal Year 2008 • Reserved for dues paying members • Mailed to 20,000 alumni • Provided access to University services on the New Brunswick/Piscataway campuses • Provided discounts for establishments in and around New Brunswick

  3. Rutgers Alumni Card NOW!Under the Rutgers University Alumni Association • Free for all 380,000 Rutgers University degree holders • Card will never expire • Identifies graduates as Rutgers alumni eligible to obtain services on the all campuses (certain services have fees that may apply) • Inclusion of Perks Card discount program providing discounts locally and around the world, with a call in center for customer service questions Mon - Fri. • Comprehensive and searchable website listing benefits and programs

Rutgers Alumni Card-Dual Purpose PerksCard Program • Local Discounts (some Rutgers sourced) • Featured Partners • Insurance & Benefits • Online Shopping • Alumni Identification Card • All graduates are card carrying members of the RUAA • Alumni ID number for online community/password protected PerksCard site • Proof of alumni status for show and save discounts both on and off campus

Perks Card Program • Benefits available online, at national and local vendors • Searchable website with comprehensive list of benefits that is tied into Ralumni.com and features established Rutgers benefits • Perks Card Customer Service Call Center is available to alumni with questions or issues • Possible Department Revenue Source in Alumni to Alumni marketing on benefits site

  6. Perks Card Costs • PERKS Card created and printed alumni cards and manages program for all living Rutgers alumni at NO cost to Rutgers

  8. Distribution - Rutgers Alumni Card Design Rutgers Alumni Card • Alumni first name, last name and Community ID number • Ralumni.com website information

  9. Replacement Cards Handled by PERKS • Calls and inquiries handled through PERKS Call Center • Alumni can print out a generic replacement card online at NO COST • Alumni can purchase a new personalized card that will arrive within 12 weeks for a fee of $9.95 (quarterly card processing)

  10. Cards for New Graduates • PERKS will produce cards each year at no cost to Rutgers or alumni. • Alumni Relations is working with other University partners to distribute to new graduates.

Website • In partnership with PERKS, a custom, co-branded Rutgers benefits site has been created • Site is embedded within Rutgers Online Community, and alumni need to only sign on once for access to all benefits • Ability to print out free, generic replacement card at no cost • Searchable, online database of extensive benefits offered by PERKS and Rutgers Alumni Relations • Those without web access can call 800# with questions about benefits

  12. Implementation Time Line • Website launched April 2010 • Rutgers Alumni Card mailing April 19 – 21, 2010 (received by Reunion) • Spring magazine (May 2010) features Alumni Card Ad • Extensive social media and online marketing of new program • Began March 2010 and will be ongoing

  13. End result… • Added value for being a Rutgers University graduate • Evidence of Rutgers high regard for its alumni • Engaged alumni
