  1. OMAM Writing Assessment Focus: Impact of a specific element of fiction on the novel

  2. Select one of the following questions to answer: • How does the author’s choice of setting impact the novel? • How does the author’s development of mood impact the novel? • Describe the author’s use of conflict and its impact on the novel • Hint: Select 1 specific example to reference.

  3. Answer will be presented in a PowerPoint that includes the following • Slide #1 = Title Slide • Slide #2 = Question to be answered • Slide #3 = Basic answer to that question • Slide #4 = Support for your answer (textual support w/ pg. #s) • Slide #5 = Explain or comment on the importance of the text/passage you selected.

  4. Slide #6 = Pull it all together • Pull the elements together into a well-written paragrapgh that demonstrates your understanding of the literary concept, as well as your understanding of the elements of the Thorough Answer (w/ RSE).
