This was the first rural electrical line in Kansas - 1938

Why would this poster have been hung up in Kansas during the late 1930s? • Picture caption: • “A Better Home – Rural Electrification Administration” poster by Lester Beall, circa 1939. The federal government commissioned this poster as part of its mission to convince rural housewives of the benefits of switching from wood, coal, and oil to electricity.

This unit is operated by a small electric motor. Dairy farmers could then expand their operations.
