Gujarat solar rooftop subsidy

Rooftop Solar Plants on a big scale are one of the greatest efforts since there is no need for land with such plants. Energy is used where it is produced; there is no transmission or wheeling loss, and such plants would be beneficial to the general public as well as State Utilities. As a result, the government has established a subsidy program for solar rooftops in the residential sector in order to promote large-scale rooftop solar systems on private residential roofs-terraces.

  1. Gujarat solar rooftop subsidy Under the National Solar Mission, the Indian government has set a goal of generating 1,00,000 MW of electricity from solar energy throughout the nation, with 40,000 MW coming from solar roofs in different industries. Gujarat has been assigned the goal of achieving 8,024 MW of solar energy capacity by 2021-22, with the rooftop sector contributing 3,200 MW. The scheme will be known as "SURYA-Gujarat" (Surya Urja Rooftop Yojana-Gujarat), and it will include the following provisions: The goal for solar rooftop installations is to serve 2 lakh customers in 2019-20 and 8 lakh people by the end of fiscal year 2021-22.

  2. Rooftop Solar systems up to 3 kW would get a 40% state subsidy, while solar rooftop systems above 3 kW up to 10 kW will receive a 20% state subsidy, if built and commissioned by private residential customers. Regardless of the consumer's sanctioned load, any capacity of solar rooftop system equal to or more than 1 (one) kilowatt DC may be built; however, the subsidy is restricted to a maximum capacity of 10 kW. The capacity of Solar Panel system Up to 3 KW From 3 KW to 10 KW Subsidy Rate 40% on the final cost 20% on the final cost Eligibility:  connection's premises.  India will produce the solar cells and modules used in the solar rooftop system. Non-Indian solar cells and/or modules, for example, are not eligible for subsidy under this program.  Only new equipment and machinery will be permitted to be installed, and they will not be relocated.  The solar installation's location is either owned by the DISCOM's customer or is in the consumer's legal possession.  The customer is the owner of the solar system. The solar system is placed on the roof or on the ground inside the service The nodal agency for this program will be Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), while the scheme's execution and subsidy distribution will be handled by all of the state's DISCOMs. The applicant will not be permitted to receive any other advantage from the Central Government for the same investment, and if it is discovered that the applicant has received any other benefit from the Government, the subsidy will be immediately reclaimed. This subsidy will not be available to any industrial, commercial, or other customers, as well as government and semi-government organizations. This Scheme will be implemented under the administrative supervision of the Gujarat Government's Energy and Petrochemicals Department.
