  1. INFORMATION LITERACYCENTER (ILC) WELCOME TO THE INFORMATION LITERACY CENTER (ILC) HARLINGEN HIGH SCHOOL SOUTH

  3. HOURS • Monday to Thursday • 7:30 am to 5:30 pm • Friday • 7:30 am to 4:15 pm • Hall Passes • Strictly required through out school day. ACE Program • Before school and afterschool, sign in at Circulation Desk.

  4. LIBRARY ETIQUITTE • Maintain a low noise level • Respect others’ need to study • Follow school rules and policies • Provide school ID when using library resources

  5. Check-in • Is required upon EVERY hall pass entry. • Check in computers are same as for Destiny • If you are taking a test you must speak to a librarian upon entry for seating.

  6. ILC PROCEDURES & FINES CHECK OUTS • At Circulation Desk • MUST present School ID • Check out up to 4 books BOOK RETURNS • Return at the circulation desk or book drop FINES • 10 cents a day LOAN PERIODS • Reference books • Overnight loan period • All other books • Two (2) weeks loan and renewal period • Due on Wednesdays

  7. SERVICES • Printing • Printer located at Circulation Desk • Limit 10 copies per class period • No personal printouts • Materials Available • Hole Punch • Pencil Sharpeners • Electric Staplers • Copier • 10 cents per copy • Pens and Pencils for sale

  8. ID CARDS • ID Card replacement cost $3.00 • ONLY before school, during lunch or after school Monday – Thursday until 4:15. • ID CARDS REQUIRED TO CHECK OUT: • BOOKS • LAPTOPS • CALCULATORS

  9. Searching for Books • Search DESTINY (on-line catalog) • 2 computers designated for DESTINY by circulation desk.

  14. Computer Usage Policy • Have an internet access permission slip on file • Adhere to the HCISD internet policies • Provide their own storage device for their work
