  4. Video Clip • Modern effects of the “scramble for Africa” and Imperialism. As you watch, think about and take notes on the following (notes under your do now on page 53) • Explain one impact Imperialism had on Africa- one piece of evidence from the movie. • Why did conflicts come about in Africa after Imperialism?

  5. Activity Step One • In Pairs… So find a partner. • Read about Imperial motives on the handout • Create a symbol to represent each motive. Step Two • Move around the room with your partner to the different placards. • For each image/quote, identify what Imperial motives you can find evidence of. • Fill out the graphic organizer • Describe what you see • Add your symbol • Why you think the image/quote supports the movtive you chose
