  2. Cardboard Testimony…

  3. CAT5 • Before entering the CAT5 program in 10th grade, I struggled to understand teachers. The rest of the class was always catching on faster than I was. • When I started using the CAT5 program I was able to work at my own pace. I went from failing math, science, and social studies to passing with high B’s and low A’s.

  4. Celebrity Dinner • Each and every year since I started CIS I have volunteered at the Celebrity Dinner. Before I wouldn’t be caught dead volunteering at anything. In doing this I have learned how important it is to raise money for CIS. It is great to be able to see with your own eyes how the money from Celebrity Dinner is used to benefit the students of Fitzgerald/Ben Hill.

  5. Dual Enrollment • Before I could have cared less about doing extra to make high school and college credits. • Now I am a successful dual enrollment student and last summer I earned a certificate to be a Certified Nursing Assistant.

  6. College Success Corps • I have been enrolled in College Success Corps for the past two years and it has taken me from having no future plans to being in the process of applying to Darton State College for Respiratory Therapy.

  7. CIS Back to School Day • By helping at the Back to School Day I learned to not be selfish and to give back to others.

  8. My CIS Site Coordinator • Lisa Cox is my Site Coordinator, teacher, counselor and friend. She is “BATMAN!” Anytime I need anything, whether it has to do with school or personal life, she is only a phone call away. That women has snatched me up out of places I shouldn’t be and MADE me go to school. I am truly thankful for her. I would not be where I am today without her.

  9. Community Service • Last year Ms. Lisa took a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada with my principal and two of my teachers. While she was gone a few others and I made her a rock garden that has her favorite quote written by Gandhi, in which she lives and breathes by, “BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD.”
