Education Assistance Full-time associates will be reimbursed 80% of eligible course costs up to $4,000 annually for job related: GED, Associate’s or Bachelor’s level and certification courses and $5,250 for job-related Master’s or PHD level courses Must be approved prior to taking course Must receive “C” or better for grade Must be employed for six months in order to be eligible to apply for tuition reimbursement Must be business related and relevant to an associates current job or future opportunity Must be in good standing 10/15/2014 13

  43. Code of Business Ethics and Conduct A guide for full and part-time associates to live up to Valassis' high ethical, fiscal, and general business standards. Sexual and Other Harassment Sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual advances or other physical, verbal, or suggestive behavior Report any instances to Human Resources or to your immediate functional leader All reports of harassment will be taken seriously and investigated promptly and thoroughly Valassis will take prompt and effective corrective action to stop and prevent unlawful harassment from occurring 10/15/2014 46

Performance Improvement A three step process with the goal of improving performance Step 1: Initial warning Step 2: Written warning Step 3: Termination Termination for Cause - Acceleration of Process Nothing in this policy changes the at-will status of an associate. At-will associates can terminate their employment (or can be terminated) at any time for any reason or no reason at all 10/15/2014 47

  47. Issue Resolution Associates are encouraged to raise any work-related concerns or issues with their immediate functional leader or Human Resources Associates will not be penalized for raising a good-faith concern 10/15/2014 48

The HR Solution Center is comprised of Valassis HR professionals who are located throughout the company. They are able to handle changes, questions and updates related to leave of absence; disability; Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA); benefits; verification of employment; HR policies and procedures; and general employment questions. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET, and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
