  1. Let’s Go Outside… London’s Top Walks: Part 2 Lovely Nonchalant readers, as summer fades into crisp Autumnal days, we think it’s a fantastic time to wrap up warm and venture out around our beautiful city for walk with friends, or that special someone. (P.S. If you missed Part 1 in the summer, check it out here). The Bridges Walk – Westminster Station to London Bridge

  2. Our favourite dusk stroll, excellent for a romantic date. Boasting dreamy views of the city skyline, historic sights, galleries (Warhol at the Tate anyone?), plentiful pubs with outdoor seating and even a couple of places where you can drop down onto accessible banks of the Thames (tide permitting).    Map Length: 8.5km (full route) Start/Stop: Westminster or London Bridge – walkable in either direction, with lots of stations in between if you fancy a shorter stint. Food & Drink: The Vault, Bar & Co Boat, The Horniman at Hays, The Anchor, Waterloo Tap Route: Flat, packed full of photo ops and places to re-hydrate whilst you admire the bright lights of London town.   North Little Venice to King’s Cross The perfect route to explore the capital’s most iconic waterways This walk starts in Little Venice, near Paddington, whose tranquil canal area is home to a host of cute waterside cafes and pubs. Stroll along, wishing you lived in one of the beautiful houses or houseboats (whatever floats your erm…boat) as you saunter upstream towards Primrose Hill. Make sure you leave time on arrival to walk up to the top and be rewarded with a fantastic views over Regent’s Park and the ever changing skyline of London. Then drop back down to the Regents Canal, enjoying the peace and greenery of the meandering canal path, before you encounter urban Camden and regenerated King’s Cross. As you arrive at King’s Cross take your pick of a growing selection of excellent cafes, bars and restaurants, with lots of outdoor space to relax with some well deserved food and drink.

  3. Map Length: 8km Start/End: Little Venice to Kings Cross Food & Drink: Spiritland, Caravan, Little Creatures, Cafe Chula, Yorkshire Burrito, The Warwick Castle Route: Flat other than the optional Primrose Hill ascent. Scenic and really pretty iconic – go explore . East Epping Forest Loop Forget the big smoke in this colossal expanse of ancient woodland. Straddling the London/Essex border is Epping Forest, a great walk allowing you to leave the city behind and embrace nature. We recommend you take some snacks or a picnic and make a day of it.

  4. Map Length: 13km (full route) Starts/Ends: Chingford Station (option to add a cheeky 5km extension if you have a bike) Food & Drink: The Larder, The Forester’s Arms Route: Trees, trees and more trees. South The Wandle Trail – Wandsworth to Croydon/Carshalton Explore South London’s varied flora and fauna along the Wandle. A longer walk, with options to split into sections, the 18km Wandle Trail follows the route of the River Wandle from either Croydon or Carshalton all the way to the Wandsworth Delta, which empties into the River Thames. This fantastic walk allows you to take in the sights of South London’s flora and fauna, with green, quiet and super pretty river banks, despite the surrounding urban landscape. We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised! Map Length: 17/18km (full route, with walking and cycle routes) Starts/Ends: Wandsworth Town to Carshalton or Croydon.

  5. Food & Drink: The Sun, The King’s Arms, Liqui-Liqui (Venezuelan street vibes), The Leather Bottle, Bean & Hop, The Ship (overlooking the Thames), The Earlsfield & The Cat’s Back Route: Flat. A little industrial but some beautiful natural trails, river views, waterfalls and chill. West Richmond Park London’s autumnal walks would be incomplete without this classic. Richmond Park is home to 2,500 acres of rolling fields, with grazing deer herds, a variety of seasonal plants and flowers, historical buildings and incredible viewpoints across London and beyond. The biggest of the Royal Parks, it has a rich history, having served as a private shooting range for the royals, an army barracks, a field hospital and used by the British Monarchy to hide from past plagues. A great place to walk or cycle, take the time to soak up the feeling of space, nature and capture some of the prettiest river views of London. Once you’re done with your walk we recommend you walk along the river towpath back down to the centre of Richmond, stopping en route to sit and watch the local canoe clubs and settle into a slower pace of life.

  6. Map Length: 12km (lots of alternative routes within and around the park for shorter/longer walks). Start/End: Richmond Station and back in a big loop. Food & Drink: The Roebuck, Gauchos, the Old Ship Route: There’s a reasonable hill up from the river/High Street to the park but you are rewarded with a stunning view of the Thames.
